I love getting to know my clients and their stories; everyone has unique strengths to draw upon in treatment. For the past ten years I have provided psychiatric services to clients of all ages. I have additional training and specialization in child, adolescent, and young adult psychiatric care, as well as LGBTQIA+ care. In addition to medication management services, I provide brief therapeutic interventions to support ongoing psychotherapy

As a triple boarded physician, I completed my residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, ranked number 1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. My integrated training in pediatrics and psychiatry offers a unique perspective, combining expertise in both fields to provide comprehensive mental health assessments.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Washington State ( License AP60003268). I received Baccalaureate Degrees in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Washington in 1988, and a Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Washington in 2007. I worked in inpatient and outpatient settings as a Psychiatric Nurse and have experience working with children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting as a Psychiatric ARNP. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, trail running and reading.

I am the owner/clinician of Hope Mental Health. We provide psych evaluations, medication and psychotherapy to all mental health conditions as needed, specializing in severe mental illness. When you schedule an appointment with me, you get a team of two. One of my interns will take a medical and psychiatric history and then I will come on and complete the evaluation and with you, my intern and myself, and we will make a treatment plan. On subsequent visits, the intern will follow you and will bring me on when medication or treatment plan needs tweaking. Our style is integrative in nature. All are in training in psychotherapy.

We are currently accepting patients via telehealth. Online appointments are conducted from the comfort of your home or private work space, using secure video chat technology. We have two board certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Chandra Cogburn and Shanti Herzog. We provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and psychiatric medication management treatment. Medication appointments are typically accompanied by brief counseling where we focus on achieving your overall health goals. We encourage people to also have a primary talk therapist for more comprehensive therapy. We see ages 5 and above to adult.
