I help adults with ADHD by medications, skill building, and therapy. Greater than 25 years of experience has taught me that medications don't work in a vacuum. It takes a village including biological, psychological, and peak performance strategies that work together to create the best results for each individual.

It should not be so difficult to get ADHD , Depression, or Anxiety diagnosed and treated. I founded Fox Fern ADHD Clinic because I was frustrated with how difficult it was to get good quality and convenient care for my own ADHD diagnosis. From intake to prescription delivery, my team and I set out to rethink what psychiatric care could be and improve the process from the ground up. We might be the only clinic with a patient-experience graphic designer on staff because we aim to relentlessly refine how we help our patients feel less overwhelmed and more capable. We work hard to make our treatment plans unique and data-driven.

The goal of this practice is to thoroughly assess, accurately diagnose, and holistically treat those who may suffer from adult ADHD symptoms. Over the course of his career, Thomas Moore, NP, has found that sometimes people who have a job are overlooked and assumed to be "fine" as long as they can keep a job. However, if you dig deeper, often many of these working professionals are dealing with an internal daily struggle just to tread water as best they can. ADHD is often a misunderstood and even stigmatized mental health condition that may be overlooked in adults.

I have a special interest in ADHD and bipolar disorder, but have 16 years of clinical experience caring for clients with a variety of psychiatric disorders.
We are living in unprecedented times. If you have been delaying seeking treatment for a mental health condition until COVID 19 "blows over", I urge you to rethink that. Services can be safely and effectively delivered via video technology. Depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and ADHD can make life feel like an uphill climb. Combined with the uncertain times we are living in, things can quickly become overwhelming. Why wait to feel better? Please note that I primarily provide medication management, with some therapy meant to supplement the work you are doing with your primary talk therapist.

NO Longer Accepting new patients at this time. My area of interest is working with children and adolescents, ages 3-18, with a particular interest in managing the care of those with Autism and ADHD . I firmly believe caring for your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health in terms of achieving optimal health and function. I value the importance of using evidence-based methods, in addition to collaborating with my patients and their families to create the most successful plan of care and outcomes for each individual.

ADHD Psychiatrists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.

About Psychiatrists, meds and Psychiatric Nurses.

A Psychiatrist in Bellevue is a qualified medical doctor who specializes in treating mental health issues and diagnosable disorders.

Bellevue Psychiatrists differ from other mental health professionals in that they may prescribe medication as well as practice psychotherapy in treatment. Sometimes, Psychiatrists form part of a clinical team in which they will diagnose and prescribe, while psychologists or therapists provide the client's psychotherapy.

As part of a clinical assessment, Psychiatrists may conduct physical examinations, take blood tests, and order and interpret lab tests and brain image scans, such as CT scans, CAT Scans, and MRIs.

The field of psychiatry in Bellevue has many sub-specialties, including pediatric psychiatry. Those who work with the elderly are called geriatric psychiatrists.

Other related sub-specialties include cognition psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, psychosomatic, forensic, reproductive medicine specialties, psychopharmacology , psychiatric genetics, neuroimaging, and clinical neurophysiology.

Psychiatric nurse practitioners in Bellevue, or mental health nurse practitioners, generally have an MS degree in nursing (MSN) and a number of years of training to become certified. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are able to assess and diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Bellevue Psychiatric nurse practitioners also have training that enables them to include psychotherapy with treatment.
