Given my knowledge base of the brain, hormones, sexuality, gender roles, eating disorders, and pregnancy, as well as my lived experience as a nonbinary person and Army veteran, I am delighted to help people get back to enjoying their lives to the fullest.

The most underserved group with mental health issues is men. Men do not seek mental health treatment and often feel uncomfortable addressing emotional wellbeing. This has serioualy impacted relationships, career advancement and family health. I strive to provide a practice that focuses exclusively on men's issues. I create an environment where every man may feel comfortable addressing the problems that impact their lives. I focus on men's mental health with straight, gay and transgender men. I believe that men, although underserved, deserve the best access to behavioral health care available.

She believes care should be personalized to meet the unique needs and experiences of individuals. Alexis Ryan is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with her Master’s of Science in Nursing acquired from Vanderbilt University’s No. 1 ranked program in the country. She combines expertise and evidence-based approaches to care with an unflagging commitment to compassion and kindness in order to treat a variety of psychiatric disorders with particular proficiency in mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. Alexis utilizes psychotherapy, creates treatment plans, prescribes clinically-supported medications, and provides diagnostic clarity and education.

Jessica (she/her) specializes in the Psychiatric assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. She has over 20 years of experience treating PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, and ADHD- among other mental health concerns. She knows that medication doesn't solve every problem, but can be a necessary tool that aids in supporting therapeutic goals for long term healing. Having worked in a children's psychiatric hospital for much of her career, she is very eager to prevent higher levels of care when possible.

I work with clients who have a history of trauma, or addiction, and I have worked extensively with the LGBTQIA+ community. I provide psychotropic medication management but work best with clients also open to alternative modalities in addition to medication. Because of my addiction background, I limit the use of controlled substances, such as benzos and stimulants, but I am aware that there is a place for these meds in some treatment plans.

Ronnie Cosby is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Virginia who has been practicing since 2021. She earned a Bachelor's in Science: Nursing at the University of North Carolina and a Master's in Science: Nursing from Walden University. Tanya Satterwhite, PMHNP Tanya Satterwhite is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Virginia who has been practicing since 2000. She has a BS and MS in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, a DNP from Old Dominion University, and a PMHNP Post Master's Certificate from the University of New Hampshire. Tanya strives to help individuals, especially those of color, get quality care to be well. In her spare time, Tanya enjoys traveling and volunteering.

Tika brings to Lifestance years of experience working with children and teenagers both in and out of the medical field. These experiences have resulted in being able to relate to and enjoy working with this patient population. Her nursing career started in Washington, D. C. working with adults, and she loved it. It was here that she grew in her skills as a nurse and she began to see a common need of mental health in each and every one of her patients. Being able to walk with patients through some of the hardest moments of their life really increased her love for the field of mental health for both pediatrics and adults.

I believe that medications are only one tool among many that can help improve symptoms of mental health-- in my conversations with patients I put equal emphasis on the importance of good nutrition, optimal gut health, stress management, individual talk therapy, regular exercise, and excellent sleep hygiene. I am now pleased to also be offering ketamine-assisted therapy for individuals with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.
