He holds a BA- biology from The University of Texas - Austin, and an MD from The University of Texas Medical School-Houston. He did his internship in Family Practice at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Subsequently, he completed residencies in General and Child Psychiatry at UTHSC-Houston. He is doubly Boarded in Child and Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

She has over 12 years of critical care and psychiatric nursing experience and has worked for non-profit organizations as well as the federal government. Doris is married and has 3 beautiful girls. She spends her free time homeschooling her kids, mentoring, and working out.
