Robert McLay is a psychiatrist and pain medicine physician who received board certifications in three areas: General Psychiatry, Pain Medicine, and Psychosomatic Medicine (the overlap between medical and mental health). He has a special focus on military, their families, and high-performance issues, but treats all mental health conditions. Dr. McLay received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Johns Hopkins University, and his Ph.D. in neuroscience and M.D. from Tulane University. He received specialty training from Naval Medical Center, the University of California San Diego, and the American Psychoanalytic Association.

Accepting New Patients - Dr. Ara completed her fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (CLP) at UCLA. CLP is a subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on treating mental health issues in patients with complex medical conditions. Before her fellowship training, she completed her psychiatry residency at the University of New Mexico and earned her M.D. degree from Tehran University.

Accepting New Patients - Steve Park, PA-C is a physician assistant at Pacific Mind Health. Steve grew up in Irvine and received his Bachelor of Science degree in gerontology at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. Inspired to treat patients, Steve gained experience as an EMT and soon received his Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Chapman University. Today, he finds great pleasure in helping others improve their mental health and lifestyle.

We are going through a major mental health crisis. I specialize in depression, and anxiety, mood disorders, especially childhood trauma- the topic of my research at UPenn, eating disorders, autism,ADHD. I work well with schools, blended/ mixed families, and have a special interest in College Mental health, having worked at CAPS clinic at UPenn and the Depression Project at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I have a collaborative approach to patient care where parents and the patient are partners in treatment with the doctor. My approach is - start low and go slow on meds. Any meds I will not give my own kids, I wouldn't yours!

She has worked at San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital for 3 years and is currently also working at Palomar Pomerado Hospital.
