I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who graduated from Vanderbilt in 2016. Prior to starting a private practice, I worked in the acute setting at Salem Hospital treating clients in an inpatient unit. I have experience treating clients in stable, and acute disease states. Prior to beginning my career in psychiatric nursing, I specialized in behavioral neuroscience and studied for 12-years a combination of psychology, counseling, and behavioral interventions. My passion is mental health care and I seek to incorporate different modalities into the care.

In my 18-year career, I have worked with quite literally thousands of different patients with a variety of different mental health problems and diagnoses and a wide variety of issues, including neurological problems like TBIs, POTS/ dysautonomia, and vestibulopathies. My patients want up-to-date information and a clinician who is constantly educating herself. I hear from patients that they often feel rushed by their provider visits; in my practice, I nurture our relationship and take my time. A typical encounter with me is a full hour. I strive to know and to understand you.

I am a dual-certified family and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, and my goal is to provide compassionate and effective mental healthcare to children and adults who are struggling with mental illness. Psychiatrists are the only doctors who don't look inside the body to assess a problem. Think about it; all other doctors use imaging and labs to look inside a person’s body when making a diagnosis. That coupled with your symptoms is how they determine what the problem is. Unfortunately, mental health providers have learned that how a person feels is their only tool in assessing somebody. Because of this, psychiatrists often have no idea what’s causing the problem. This limits the treatment options to a prescribed “band-aid" that is used to reduce symptoms, instead of addressing the underlying cause of a problem.

About the Provider: I am a Board Certified, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, (PMHNP-BC). I obtained my professional degree from Walden University. Over the years, I had professional affiliations with reputable mental health facilities including Bakersfield behavior, John George psych and more. I treat children and adults affected by various mental illness with care and compassion. I utilize Evidence Based Practice model to make treatment choices. I am specialized in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety and mood instability. Stimulant and non-stimulant treatment are available. I do conduct ADHD screening and testing before treatment.

I see adults, adolescents, and children ages six and older. My ideal client is someone who has had anxiety, panic attacks, irritability, anger management problems, depression, insomnia, loneliness, or suicidal thoughts. If you have fibromyalgia or memory problems sometimes there are ways to turn that around. I do medical screening to see whether there might be a medical issue that contributes to your psychiatric symptoms. Metabolism can be an issue and some might lose weight in treatment. If you are interested in medication-free treatment there are better options today.

**Accepting New Clients** I am the sole owner and provider of a small practice in South Salem. In my practice, I see clients from 14+ for the diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of mental illnesses. I offer brief therapy with specific goals, I use an adaptive modality to focus on each individual client's need at the time. In addition, I also prescribe and manage medications both in person at my brick and mortar practice, and given the advances in security and communication via telepsychiatry appointments scheduled via my office staff with established clients as Oregonian law stipulates at least every six months that we meet.
