I'm the Director of Advanced Practice Providers at Stella Center and oversee our assessment team. I became a nurse practitioner in 2007 after 10 years of hospital nursing experience. We specialize in identifying innovative treatments & therapies that can help relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD & TBI. I am a Rush trained, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who provides psychotherapy and medication management. I am passionate about helping patients and their families overcome the stigma surrounding mental health treatment for children. There is an unfortunate shortage of psychiatrists that specialize in treating children, which I recognized early in my training. This area of psychiatry is uniquely challenging due to its diversity, but I have worked with patients from a wide range of socio-economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, and even patients as young as three years old.

My expertise is in treating mood, trauma, anxiety, and attention-related disorders. I take an integrative approach in considering the brain-body connection to treat mental illness, while identifying physical, emotional, and cognitive factors that impact treatment. My background is at the interface of medicine and psychiatry and I support a collaborative, multi-modal approach to helping patients achieve functional improvement and recovery. Dr. Gundu Reddy is licensed in Illinois. Prior to starting a residency at Mount Sinai School of medicine, she pursued additional research in HIV Psychiatry. As well as residency training, she has also pursued further training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the NYU Psychoanalytic Institute. She states that whether prescribing medication, family, or relationship therapy, understanding psychodynamic conflict and causes of symptoms will cause help to enhance the quality of care. As well as psychodynamic training Dr. Reddy also has a background in integrative psychiatry and treatment resistance.
