While medication can alleviate symptoms, they cannot resolve psychological pain. Nor can someone be known and understood in a 15 minute appointment. Sustained recovery takes time and occurs within a caring relationship. A psychiatrist must be fully present and authentic for patients to have reason to trust. I believe in empowering clients with education and mindfulness of their emotions, vulnerabilities and needs. Only then can symptom relief, peace of mind and JOY be fully achievable.
