About
My practice is now closed to new patients as I am retiring in April, 2022. I am a psychiatrist (Adult, Child and Adolescent), in private practice in Lexington, MA. I specialize in individual psychotherapy for kids and adults, couples therapy, family therapy, and psychoanalysis. While I am happy to prescribe medications to my current patients, I would consider myself quite conservative in that area; and typically will prescribe medication only when I am also providing the necessary psychotherapy for the adult, or child, adolescent, and their family.
Academic affiliation -- Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School where I teach: psychotherapy, child and adolescent suicide. Faculty member at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. National affiliations: active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and on the national board of directors, Councilor-at-Large (2016-2019).
I am broadly trained and and experienced and I seek to help people (kids, adults, and their families) deal with relationships and life's agonies and frustrations, well beyond diagnostic categories.
