Thank you for your interest in my practice. Although not a Freudian, I subscribe to his view of mental health-the ability to love and work (love and work being broadly defined). My doctorate is in Nursing Science from the Catholic University of America. As a certified specialist in psychiatric mental health nursing and a nursing educator, I bring my years of training and clinical expertise to assisting clients achieve and or reclaim their highest level of functioning in love and work.
During the initial session, I provide a thorough assessment of health and coping, which may include some physical assessment such as height, weight, blood pressure and heart rate readings. I assess diet, exercise, sleep, work, health history, family history, interpersonal relationships, and the current condition contributing to the person seeking therapy.
Most people benefit from supportive, problem-solving therapy that may require only a few sessions. I prescribe medication and I promote mindfulness, healthy lifestyle, and relaxation techniques. My fee for the initial evaluation session is $500 (75 min) and, thereafter, charges are based on the service provided. Payment is expected at the time of service.
