Welcome to Imani Mental Health and Wellness. My name is Susan Mbugua, and I am Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I believe in the importance of personalized mental health treatment that addresses the biological, emotional, environmental, and spiritual aspects of mental health and wellness. My treatment approach is to use a combination of medications, therapy, and education to interrupt acute episodes of illness and to break the cycle of recurrence with a holistic approach that includes medications, supportive therapy, guidance on diet, exercise and other lifestyle choices.
Susan emphasizes respectful, compassionate, and timely mental health care and has made it her mission to provide timely, quality mental health care access to those that have made the decision to seek help. My love, compassion and empathy for patients with Mental health concerns drives my day to day practice.
