My name is Dr. Jaya LaFontaine. I am a board certified Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist, seeing people of all ages. I provide holistic, integrative virtual telepsychiatry services in the state of Missouri. Psychiatric practice has become solely about medicating symptoms rather than addressing the cause. I specialize in reducing polypharmacy, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and providing a safe, inclusive, confidential, and compassionate space for my patients who want to heal rather than numb their pain.
Patients often come into care because they have tried several avenues to help themselves and are still struggling to cope. I have a wide range of experiences with various populations that helps me recognize the external symptoms of internal conflicts. Scientific studies show most mental illness is multi-factorial.
