My path to psychiatry began with a deeply personal story of survival and healing. As a child in India, I survived a life-threatening accident, and the compassion of the physicians who treated me inspired my lifelong commitment to medicine. Today, as a dual board-certified child, adolescent, and adult MD Psychiatrist in Chicago, I bring that same blend of skill, empathy, and lived experience to help my patients feel truly seen and supported.
In starting Downtown Psychiatry Chicago, I wanted to do something radical:
