Violet Moses MSN APRN FNP-C PMHNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner with dual Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner living in Massachusetts. Currently, her focus is in psychiatry with specialties in addiction medicine and eating disorders. She has experience in treating adolescents and adults with dual diagnosis, anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar, substance use disorder, binge eating disorder, and many other common mental health conditions.

My passion for empowering and aiding individuals in their wellness journey began 20 years ago. While working with under-served communities in New Haven and Hartford Counties, I was fortunate enough to interact and develop meaningful relationships with individuals of various cultural backgrounds. I continue to apply this philosophical thinking and practice while serving my patients in order to provide an individualized, holistic treatment.

I have found that, where possible, it is best to take a minimalist approach to medication interventions, balancing these with appropriate therapy interventions and focus on life changes that can improve a client's mental health or addiction difficulties. My goal in practice is to work together with each patient to develop a customized plan that will address their needs. I am a strong believer in psychotherapy and have experience in individual, group, couple and family therapy. However, when therapy has not provided adequate relief, medication management is always available. I will collaborate with patients to find the best treatment. I am also on faculty at Columbia University/ NYSPI and actively involved in research (specific areas include opioid dependence, pain and complicated grief). This experience allows me to integrate up to date treatment in my practice.

In my approach to treatment, I explore how culture, gender, and identity intersect with personality and neurochemical imbalances to produce psychiatric symptoms that impede daily functioning and interpersonal activities.
