I'm happy to meet you for: (1) traditional dynamic psychotherapy — only flexible, non-stuffy, and straightforward; (2) recognition of mind-body medicine, i.e., how the body affects the mind, and vice versa; (3) prescription writing when needed in addition to psychotherapy, with a light touch and full attention to pros and cons. The ideal patient appears successful on the outside, but suffers longstanding dissatisfaction or self-defeating behavior. Examples include prolonged reactions to trauma or grief, undue guilt or self-blame, or a pattern of interpersonal conflicts.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist with a career-long focus on psychotherapy: conducting it in my private practice, teaching it to interns and residents, demystifying it for the public. We'll consider medical and medication related matters, but knowing you as a person comes first. I offer my undivided attention, years of experience, and honest feedback.
