Overwhelmed? Frustrated with people in your life? Trouble at school, work or home? Change can happen. I see adolescents, adults and couples. I'm direct, open, collaborative. My style is eclectic, practical and problem-solving. I prescribe anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications when indicated. Psychotherapy is a two-way street. It begins with a consultation, when together we clarify what's troubling you. During that first encounter, we road-test our compatibility as communicators and collaborators. In psycho-therapy, "one size" does not fit all. You should meet more than one clinician before deciding whom to work with.
I'm a Board-Certified, analytically-trained psychiatrist with 40+ years of clinical experience. Since 1999, I have been continuously named a "Top Doctor" and "Top Psycho-therapist" by Washingtonian Magazine. (I've been named one of "America's Top Psychiatrists" by Consumer Research Council of America on multiple occasions).
I'm also a published author with a special interest in creativity. I find that a sense of humor helps in psychotherapy as it does in life.
