I am a general psychiatrist treating a wide array of psychiatric problems. I have experience with patients with mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders as well as ADHD. I also treat adolescents with these problems. I also have experience working with people with personality disorders. I work with some people psychotherapeutically, but I also perform diagnostic assessments and psychopharmacology consultation for people in therapy with other mental health professionals. I am also certified to treat opiate dependence with buprenorphine (Suboxone).
My approach to patients involves proper diagnosis and mental health education, as well as an eclectic psychotherapeutic approach to problems in living. I have also been intensively trained in Dialectic Behavior Therapy by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D.
I am board certified in General Psychiatry and Adolescent Psychiatry. I am a Past President of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. I have waiver to prescribe buprenoprhine for opiate dependence. I am also Board Certified in Forensic Psychiatry, and I perform evaluations at the request of attorneys and courts.
