Mission Statement: I have enjoyed a half-century of professional experience in science (pharmacy, medicine, neuroscience, psychiatry and preventive medicine) and in the arts (publishing, theatre, TV and film production, and an Actors Studio approach to personal, emotional growth). I understand the value of deep and broad life experience and the importance of a serious commitment to honest, respectful attention to the needs of patients. My credo is treat others as I would want to be treated and do my utmost to assist in the process of healing and personal growth of each individual and/or couple with whom I am privileged to work.

One life-changing aspect of my work is the distinction between FEELINGS and BEHAVIOR and the self-deception involved in hiding, from oneself, such feelings as fear, loss, hurt, shame, helplessness, worthlessness, and disappointment, beneath anger and aggression. In other words, anger is usually blinding self-deception and aggression a deceptive cover of vulnerability.
