I am an adult psychiatrist with 24 years of experience in treating patients who struggle with a large array of psychiatric diagnoses including psychosis, mania/bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. I started my career as a researcher at NIDA working with children, adolescents and adults with ADD, ADHD, CD and ODD. I am a former sub-investigator for studies pivoting around psychosis, bipolar disorder and depression. My approach in treating patients is multifaceted, including psychopharmacology, individual, couple and family therapy, genetic testing, TMS, ECT.
I am a graduate of University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hatieganu”/Romania/1996 and finished my residency at University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt/USA in 2004. I continued training with a fellowship in CLPsychiatry at Washington Hospital Center/GTU between 2004 and 2005. I am also a therapist formally trained at Washington Center for Psychoanalysis.
I enjoy working collaboratively with individuals, families and other health professionals to design a comprehensive treatment that suits the needs of each individual and family. I provide second opinions for those who feel their current treatment is not adequate or helping. I am an out-of network provider. This means I do not accept insurances at this time.
