I am committed to meeting my patients where they are in the therapeutic process and believe in compassionate, ethical care. I integrate psychoanalytic, behavioral, and supportive psychotherapies with psychopharmacology, when needed. My goal is to help patients understand themselves better and live more fulfilling lives, and to cope with difficulties in more constructive ways. I work with patients who have mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, acculturation issues, and substance abuse.
I find it rewarding to work with young adults who are experiencing a first episode of a mood disorder, anxiety disorder, or a psychotic disorder. I have worked with undergraduate and graduate students with mental health concerns. Additionally, I have also enjoyed working with clients who are in health care professions themselves.
In addition to private practice, I teach medical students and residents in psychiatry. I am currently an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. I am board certified and trained at Harvard affiliated Massachusetts General and McLean Hospitals and was awarded the Mel Kayce Psychotherapy Award at McLean Hospital.
