Hi! My name is Shikira. I’m a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner with a doctorate degree in nursing practice. I’m originally from Ohio. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, sports, travel, community service activities, and my beloved fur babies. My experience is in medical/surgical nursing, brief counseling, and adult and adolescent mental health care. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment settings throughout my 10 + years in healthcare. I believe my clients, families, and I are a team.
Using evidence-based guidelines, I will help you achieve optimal mental health. While medications are helpful in many cases, I don’t believe in just “pushing pills” on to people.
