About
Appreciation for the human spirit is an integral aspect of my approach to medication intervention and psychotherapy. I am aware of the courage it often takes to ask for, and accept clinical/psychopharmacological help. Collaboration in this process is most important. I strive to prescribe medication based on a detailed assessment. However, medication management does not lend itself to overnight fixes; It takes commitment and a patient who is onboard with the process. For individuals who are interested in talk therapy only, I am open to providing the service without medication. Some people may benefit from both, however.
As a board certified psych NP, I am trained in the treatment of psychiatric disorders via medication management and psychotherapy. My goal is the holistic care of patients. I strive to understand and identify each person's unique vulnerabilities, needs and strengths in terms of satisfaction around work, family, relationships and self esteem.
Through my years of clinical experience as an RN, and now as a licensed NP, I have developed a strong ability to listen, ask good questions, and be very present. Not everyone will need medication. During our initial appointment(s), I will make that assessment. These are difficult times for many; I look forward to being a part of your healing journey.
