I am a nurse practitioner offering medication management, and other treatments for mental health through Empowered Psychiatry. I am Johns Hopkins-educated, LGBTQ+ positive, sex-positive, poly-, body- and kink positive, and I am pretty calm, casual, and relaxed, with some dry humor sprinkled in. I prioritize mutual open communication in order to work with each individual's goals. I try to avoid stigma and shame, including about substances, neurodivergence, and unfortunate past events, and I aim to work together to define and pursue health and wellness goals.

I am the founder of the Dual-Brain Psychology Institute for the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and psychological wellbeing. My primary focus is the understanding and treatment of one's inner emotional distress and its impact on one's everyday life.

I have been in private practice for almost 20 years, working extensively with women's mental health issues. I have helped my clients navigate emerging young adulthood, eating disorders, infertility, pregnancy and the postpartum period, and menopause. I am an integrative psychiatrist, that believes in exploring and treating the underlying physiological causes of mental illnesses, and combine nutraceuticals and complementary treatment with pharmacotherapy.

I'm on faculty at Harvard Medical School and work as a staff psychiatrist at McLean, in addition to my time in my confidential private practice. I do deep work with clients to help them understand themselves and heal from trauma, master emotion-regulation, and thrive in relationships and under the stresses of life. I work with clients new to therapy as well as clients who have tried numerous therapies and/or medications and haven't gotten the results they wanted. I listen and work collaboratively with you.

In my experience as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, I have attempted to help people struggling with emotional difficulties, compromised productivity, troubled relationships, and stunted creativity. Sometimes these difficulties yield to medications, advice, or short-term strategies. Sometimes they are the product of conflicts with a long history that result in frustrating repetitions that cost the patient time, pleasure, and fulfillment. Until these conflicts and feelings can be talked about they will show up as action and people will feel stuck and hopeless. Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis can break this logjam and free the individual to choose their own course.

Brad Winter is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) in the state of Massachusetts. Brad’s goal as a psychiatric NP is to empower his clients to achieve their optimal mental wellness and quality of life. He believes in collaborating with his clients and their families to create individualized treatment plans that address their unique needs and preferences.

My ideal client is someone who wants to better improve their wellness by working collaboratively with their team to get to a place where they feel more at peace. They also understand that the road to wellness is not linear, and it requires time and patience. This person is open to a holistic approach, and is open to other treatment options outside of medication management, such as psychotherapy and developing coping strategies to alleviate their symptoms.

Valerie Zelonis, PMHNP-BC, is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, licensed to practice throughout the lifespan, and specialized in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry.

I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist with a broad range of clinical experience and a passion for psychotherapy. I provide warm and collaborative care for adults who are coping with personal or professional challenges, life transitions, or struggling to achieve satisfying relationships. I enjoy working with individuals who are highly motivated to invest in their mental health. I offer both psychotherapy and medication management for adults ages 18-65. Sessions are conducted virtually to accommodate busy working professionals, parents, and students. I am currently accepting new patients.

As a trained and Board Certified Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist with 20 years experience, I work with teens, adults and parents. I specialize in depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD and eating disorders. I help people with issues related to self esteem and self compassion- low self compassion can manifest in many ways including low self confidence, conflict avoidance, procrastination, low mood and worry among other symptoms. I also provide consultation to people unsure how to proceed with their or their child’s care, parent coaching and second opinions when a person in treatment feels stuck.
