I am a Columbia University trained psychiatrist and neuroscientist with a specialization in treating mood and anxiety disorders. I work with adults of all ages in psychotherapy and medication treatment. My treatment approach is tailored to each individual patient and draws from a number of disciplines including psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and neuroscience. When appropriate, I combine these approaches with medication. I always work collaboratively with patients to determine what treatment combinations will best meet their treatment goals.
Along with my clinical practice, I also train residents and conduct research at Columbia University related to mood and anxiety disorders. I have affiliations with NY Presbyterian Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital in Westchester, where I see patients in the psychiatric emergency room.
As an academic clinician, I am informed on current evidence-based approaches to treatment and have experience treating a broad range of symptoms using both psychotherapy and medications. My goal is to help my patients lead their most meaningful lives. I believe this can only be done using a collaborative, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach.
