Dr. Shim has provided psychiatric service, education and conducted neuroscience research for mental health on faculties of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the Chicago Medical School over 20 years. His research has been funded by major research organizations including National Institute of Mental Health, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affair, pharmaceutic companies and research foundations. Dr. Shim has published over 100 research articles, book chapters, and presentations at research conferences. For the last ten years, Dr.
Shim has served as an associate professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Shim believes in comprehensive psychiatric care using a bio-psycho-social model in diagnostic assessment, medication management, and individual psychotherapy for patients ranging from adolescents (high teen) to adults and seniors.
Outside of work, Dr. Shim enjoys hiking, running, travel, and studying gothic architecture.
