Hello! My name is Saumya Antony, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) at Frederick Psychiatry. During my training for nursing degree, I was doing rotation in a mental health unit. Working with patients I found my passion and decided to pursue specialty higher education in mental health. Since that time I have continued to pursue excellence in empathic understanding and treatment of emotional and behavioral issues.
My goal has been to understand a person beyond their diagnosis. I believe no two people with depression are same. It is job of a good clinician to understand those difference and tailor treatment to each individual.
Understanding each individuals difference helps me to know the differences all of us have. My goal is to help people get better and achieve their ambitions and dreams. It is not simply to improve symptoms but find joy and fulfillment.
