I am a board-certified psychiatrist with training and experience in both academic and community practice settings. I believe mental healthcare is a partnership between doctor and patient. Often I see people do best when they take an active role and interest in their mental wellness, which may mean making a medication change, engaging in a new healthy activity, or starting psychotherapy.
Most of my patients take medication as part of their mental wellness plan. I incorporate psychotherapy into our sessions, but do not generally offer weekly psychotherapy-only visits. If weekly psychotherapy is needed, I can give advice on finding a therapist.
For Hawaii patients, all visits are via telehealth. For Michigan patients, visits are in-person in our downtown Ann Arbor office or via telehealth.
