My motto is "Promoting Self-Regulation, and Bio-Emotional Health". I am a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist. I provide psychotherapy and pharmacological treatment for those who need it. I believe medications are not the answer to people emotional, psychological, and behavioral problems. My patients are individuals who want to improve the quality of their life and find their way to a satisfying and fulfilling future. My treatment approach is focused on the strengths of each individual and on helping people to obtain more insight and discover their true self.
I am board certified in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry and I have more than twenty years of experience in Psychiatry and Medicine. I treat children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of disorders including anxiety, mood disorders, psychotic disorders and developmental disorders. I use a cognitive, psycho-dynamic and interpersonal approach.
I bring emotions into psychiatry and medicine - not to suppress them with drugs or other treatments- but to help people tolerate and process emotional reactions without becoming overwhelmed, withdrawn, or disorganized. I often say: "know yourself to conquer your weaknesses and enhance your strengths". This in my experience is the key to a satisfying life.
