I am a Harvard-trained relational psychiatrist with 30 years' experience in medication management and therapy. While medication can alleviate symptoms and provide a foundation of stability, it does not heal. Sustained recovery requires time, commitment, and the safety of a mutually authentic relationship. Brought to bear, you can go beyond symptom relief and achieve peace of mind and growth of the soul. Do not settle for less.
Genetics, biology, gender, race, class, ethnicity, culture, relationships, and life experiences (both traumatic and nurturing) all contribute to who we are and become. Examining these factors in the context of development, allows individuals to identify the obstacles to growth and implement change to become their best selves.
Not infrequently patients are prescribed medication (sometimes for years) yet remain symptomatic. I therefore conduct a thorough independent evaluation, which frequently results in more effective treatment, if not complete remission of symptoms. I specialize in bipolar disorder, PTSD and adult Asperger's/PDA (persistent drive for autonomy).
