Dr. Sabera Saklayen is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with experience treating a diverse patient population in Long Island and New York City. She graduated residency from Stony Brook University Hospital where she served as chief resident, and proceeded to work as an outpatient attending in Manhattan upon graduation. Dr. Saklayen primarily focuses on medication management, however will often bring in integrative therapy approaches to each session based upon your needs within 30-min follow-up visits. Dr. Saklayen graduated college from Ohio State University in 2008 with a major in biology and minor in neuroscience. She attended medical school at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. 6. From there, she matched into psychiatry residency at Stony Brook University Hospital from 2016-2020.
Dr. Saklayen has significant experience with complex diagnoses, medical co-morbidities and high-risk assessments due to the robust curriculum of her residency program and fast-paced nature of outpatient work in New York City. Her primary focus is mood disorders and anxiety disorders in the general adult population.
