About
In today's hustle and bustle society, it is easy to overlook one's own needs and well-being. Mental health symptoms can impair our capacity to function at maximum potential. As a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and physician, I strive to understand each patient as an individual, with a unique background, set of priorities, and co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions. I work collaboratively with my patients in designing a personalized treatment plan to effectively target symptoms and reduce suffering. Treatment modalities offered include use of psychotropic medication, psychotherapy, and combined medication and therapy.
Psychiatrists attend medical school and receive subsequent training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and psychiatric symptoms. Skilled in the use of medications to treat underlying mental health issues, psychiatrists receive additional training in several types of psychotherapy. Psychiatrists may choose to sub-specialize in different areas.
I am board-certified in general and forensic psychiatry and am skilled in treating a variety of psychiatric conditions in adults. I also provide counseling / therapy for individuals working on issues and seeking greater self-understanding. Additionally, I provide consultation and expert witness services for criminal and civil legal matters.
