I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 26 years of clinical experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and management psychiatric and behavioral conditions including over 7 years of providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a neuromodulation treatment. I recognize that current mainstream approach of prescribing medications based on symptoms checklist alone is less than optimal. Every mental and physical conditions have multifactorial contributions including biological predisposition, current lifestyle, nutrition, psychological health, life stressors, coping skills, and mindset.
My initial consultation includes a comprehensive psychiatric assessment and labs to rule out contributing medical conditions. Each treatment plan is individualized with patient input and consent and in collaboration with other mental health and primary care providers, as well as family members with patient's consent.
I offer medication management, TMS for Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD), supportive psychotherapy with strong emphasis on underlying causes, education, implementation of healthy lifestyle, exercise, light therapy, nutrition, and sleep hygiene. This comprehensive approach improves treatment outcome, efficacy of medications, and patient satisfaction.
