In my role as prescriber, I practice holistic psychiatry utilizing the causal basis of Functional medicine and orthomolecular psychiatry. I look with clients first at causes which might include envirnoment,genetic, lifestyle, diet and nutrient deficiencies or overloads. Following this, I may then recommend a nutrient plan prior to prescribing psychotropics
I take my oath to do no harm very seriously. My work with clients is a whole health approach. I do not do medication management. I provide education that empowers my clients to make the decision about the possibility of making dietary or lifestyle changes or following a recommended nutrient protocol prior to taking prescribed medications if necessary.
