I am a psychiatric and adult nurse practitioner who is focused on helping patients feel and do their best. I have extensive experience working with complex patients in an inpatient as well as outpatient setting. I use medications and supportive counseling as methods to help patients achieve relief from symptoms such as anxiety, depression, mood swings, anger outbursts, insomnia and alcohol dependence. I believe my team approach is effective and will help decrease the symptoms that cause pain and interfere with daily living.
I became an Adult Medical Nurse Practitioner in 1993 and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2004. My background includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatry care including depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder, grief, attention deficit disorders, memory loss, stress. I am able to offer evaluation and support with guardianship issues.
My medical background has allowed me to treat patients with medical conditions which can complicate medication choices. Interactions and side effects can be frightening and familiarity with these conditions and medications will result in safe medication choices. I can provide medication management for those already seeing a therapist.
