I have worked with many people with a wide variety of issues. Working in community mental health and at an acute care hospital has given me a wide range of experience. I have throughly enjoyed working with neurodivergent people as well as developmental disorders. I also enjoy working with people who battle addiction. It is amazing to watch the transformations in lives.
I provide medication assisted treatment for SUD. The prevalence of trauma working with people who have a substance use disorder is astounding. My ability to meet people where they are has served my patients well. I am interested in the whole person, not just their issues.
Prior to nursing school I worked at the Marion VA which serves veterans with mental illness and/or substance use disorder. It was there that that my passion for working with people who struggle with their mental health was born. Since working in a community mental health care center, I have realized the great need for accessible and affordable care.
