Shelley is down to earth and through empathy, she forms meaningful connections with her patients. Shelly has over 20 years of nursing experience. She is highly skilled in psychopharmacology. She specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, sleep disorders, and ADHD.

I have successfully treated patients who suffer from Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Insomnia, Bipolar Disorder, Dementia, Hallucinations and Delusions as well as addiction and alcoholism. I have worked with patients as young as 2 years old and as old as 105 years old.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in mental health. My treatment approach is grounded in a combination of evidence-based therapies, integrative holistic modalities and pharmacotherapy. I work together with my clients to understand their lived experience as we tailor a course of treatment to meet their individual needs. My mission is to provide an environment that is supportive, and free from judgement. I provide education on medication choices and treatment decision-making is shared.

I have extensive training in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. I prefer to see patients for both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, although I am open to working with other therapists. I have affiliation with both NYU and Lenox Hill Hospital and enjoy teaching both psychiatry residents and medical students as a voluntary attending. I provide patient focused therapy. I believe that everyone responds differently to different treatment and the best way to achieve their goals is to take a collaborative approach.

I am a trained Doctor of Nursing Practice, licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Assistant Professor. I assess, diagnose, prescribe, and treat individuals with mental health needs across the lifespan. I use integrative medicine, an evidence-based, patient-centered approach fusing conventional and complementary interventions together to address the needs of the "whole person." I combine armamentarium of body, psyche, and collective knowledge through relationships and connections within the Universe missioned to unearth deeply rooted issues, promoting healing rather than "band-aiding symptoms."

My practice is focused on medication management for adults . My background is as an RN for 26 years, focusing in Women's Health, prior to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2008 working in settings across the country to include NY, Arizona, Iowa, Minnesota and Alaska.
