I am a board certified family psychiatric nurse practitioner. My education includes a B.S. in Psychology from Tennessee State University, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, and an MSN from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. I have worked in the field of mental health in some capacity for the past 20 years, and specifically as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since 2008. I utilize a natural, caring approach to promote well-being in the clients that I serve.
Providing psychotropic medication management for symptomology such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, psychosis, and inattention/hyperactivity. Providing short-term therapy utilizing an eclectic approach (i.e., motivational interviewing, EMDR, client-centered). Providing computerized assessments to identify deficits of attention using the T.O.V.A.
I have learned that we all pretty much are the same - we all love in some form, we all laugh, in some cases we cry, and there are sometimes when we emotionally hurt. My goal is to assist individuals in dealing with that hurt and empowering them to grow internally, spiritually, and mentally.
