About
Dr. Parmar is a board certified psychiatrist who earned her medical degree at Terna Medical College & Hospital in India. She enjoyed living in the Bay Area after moving to the US in 2009, and then went on to complete her general psychiatry training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center program, TX, followed by her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Hofstra Northwell Health program, NY. Her training has equipped her to manage a diverse array of patients from all age groups with a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
Her philosophy involves making the patient/ families feel heard and understood, while helping them tailor their treatment goals.supports. She educates her patients to make well informed treatment choices, and believes in achieving overall well-being of an individual rather than targeting a limited set of symptoms.
She is also well attuned to her patient's cultural needs and tries her best to reduce stigma and prejudice related to mental illness.
