We are often limited by by own beliefs and sometimes achieve only a fraction of what we are capable because of the "old story" we tell ourselves. When it come to medications, I will ask "what is your long term goal" and work from there... Let's have the tough conversation on front end - This is NOT a practice prescribing benzodiazepines long term. As a Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist, I will look at 'big picture' and what we are working towards "long term". Prescribing medications is more than a "pick'em" and see if it works. The decision to use medications should be made from a researched based perspective and thorough analysis of possible interactions and discussion of how medications can work.
I have spent majority of my adult professional careers helping others. Started in healthcare and also was a Kindergarten teacher, then taught middle grades and back to Elementary school before going to Medical School. I thoroughly enjoy working with adults whether it be medication management or more from the psychotherapeutic aspect.
