I had a further Residency Training at SUNY Downstate Hospital Brooklyn, NY followed by a one year of Child Psychiatry training at the University of Florida. I have a fellowship in psychoanalysis from NYU and a 2 year of psychodynamic psychotherapy training at Willam Alanson White Institute , NYC.

Alejandra Cattan, MD, is bilingual and delivers quality care in English and Spanish. I began my training at Hospital Italiano de Bs. As. and completed General Psychiatry Residency at Bronx Care/Mount Sinai. I concluded additional training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the NY Medical College Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Balta is board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. He is also psychoanalyst certified by the Manhattan's William Alanson White Institute. Throughout the years he has worked in different settings including inpatient psychiatry, addiction rehabilitation, administration and grants development. He believes that there must be an initial phase of proactive psycho-pharmaco-therapy trials to find the best individualized medications. There are always psychological roots to a person's sufferings-symptoms and the goal is to learn the connection of the past to present symptoms, and work to have a balanced functional life.

Dr. Rivera Mirabal has extensive experience and a genuine interest in treating patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, adjustment disorders, and trauma-related disorders. He is committed to fostering a collaborative and trusting relationship with each patient, working together to address mental health concerns and promote overall well-being. Dr Rivera Mirabal is a compassionate and skilled psychiatrist committed to providing holistic and humanistic care. He has robust training in psychotherapy, including psychodynamic, supportive, Acceptance and Commitment Psychotherapy (ACT), and CBT.

Seth Sherman, M.D., is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for over ten years. At the heart of Dr. Sherman’s clinical approach is a strong emphasis one stablishing trust, rapport, and therapeutic alliance to help persons to feel and live well and to progress toward their goals, both in treatment and in life. Dr. Sherman begins with a consultation, a compassionate, collaborative process of discovery that culminates in a working diagnostic impression and, in turn, treatment recommendations.

Dr. Nieves-Alvarado is a recent psychiatry graduate from Duke Psychiatry Residency program. She is board-certified and has experience with psychodynamic and supportive therapy. Dr. Nieves-Alvarado is originally from Puerto Rico and practices psychiatry in both English and Spanish.

Dr. John Whittier is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, PTSD, ADHD and mood disorders. Dr. Whittier is primarily focused on medication management of general psychiatric conditions. He approaches each client as an individual, using the one-hour initial intake to get a comprehensive look at each client’s unique needs. From there he works with his clients to provide options and flexibility in the treatment plan utilizing a combination of psychotherapy, medications, and evidence-based alternative therapies.

I graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minors in Chemistry and Behavioral Neuroscience. I completed my medical school training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and my psychiatry residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I am experienced in treating a variety of psychiatric disorders in adults of all ages, as well as young adults, having spent time treating students in the SUNY college system.
