After a thorough initial consultation, I will share with you my impression and recommendations. If you wish to proceed, together we will decide on a course of treatment that's right for you. Privacy and confidentiality are fully respected. I offer individual psychotherapy, as well as medication management if indicated and if desired. If you need specialized treatment that I cannot provide, I will tell you so and help you find it.

I am a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with 37 years of clinical experience. I try my best to help my patients feel and function better, plus understand how their backstories help to create both their psychological strengths and their emotional difficulties. We humans live complicated and often very stressful lives. The solutions we originally used to cope with our special problems in childhood often follow us into adulthood and may contribute to the development of problems in our adult lives, even though we may not consciously see the connection. Learning new and better solutions can help us live happier and healthier lives.

Practicing General Adult Psychiatry, I use a combination of medication and therapy. With my passion for the fields of behavioral health and medicine, I specialize in identifying the source of behavioral health problems by investigating a patient's background in a thorough manner, applying evidence-based medicine and collaborating with practitioners in other medical disciplines to provide a comprehensive treatment plan. I uniquely combine a wide range of therapies with appropriate medications to treat common problems, such as mood and anxiety disorders, and firmly believe in educating my patients in order for them to make well-informed decisions regarding their treatment.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California at Davis, Dr. Chofla earned his medical degree from Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.
