My role as a PMHNP is to diagnose, treat, prescribe medication and provide therapy. I combine the principles of psychology and pharmacology to treat a variety of mental health issues. I follow evidence-based guidelines but also blend my skill of intuition, personnel observation, and clinical experience to partner with you in finding the best treatment plan. I believe in the mind/body/spiritual connection. We are not a series of parts, but a whole person.
I'm board certified in Psychiatric Mental Health and Geriatrics. Currently I work with adults struggling with (but not limited to) ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and schizophrenia. I started my career working in geriatrics and take a special interest in those suffering from cognitive changes and dementias.
I believe the patient-provider relationship is "one of equal parts", where we explore together what course to follow. Whereas I'm the expert on medication management, and you are the expert on your treatment expectations. My main approach to medication management is using interventions aimed at empowering you to be an active partner in your mental health
