I came to the field of psychiatry circuitously. For almost as long as I wanted to pursue medicine, I thought my future would be in Oncology. At an early age, I remember visiting my mother’s clinic, where she worked as an Oncology Nurse, and helping her interact with her patients and holding their hands gently during infusion sessions. I would sit with her, mesmerized, and imagining a future using similar techniques heal illnesses of the body. I naturally gravitated toward the study of the human mind and behavior.
As a Nurse Practitioner, my philosophy of nursing is to provide individualized care to my clients by acknowledging their unique situations, educating clients and their families, and providing unconditionally compassionate, high-quality care.
