I am a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) dedicated to providing exceptional mental health care to clients across the lifespan. I have been working in healthcare for over 14 years, with the past 9 years focused on mental health treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a US Air Force veteran, I also have experience working with active duty service members and veterans to meet their mental health care needs.

We are currently accepting new patients ages 3-64 for diagnostic evaluations and medication management. Our practice offers a collaborative approach to mental health care. Therapy modalities for patients 18 and over include EMDR, hypnotherapy, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, CBT, and marital counseling. Our clinical team uses the latest evidence based treatment options and have been providing mental health care for over 20 years. Our services are offered in-person at our Colorado Springs location as well as virtually to patients across Colorado and Alaska.

Dr. Kurtz is a compassionate & empathetic Integrative Psychiatrist specializing in treating adults experiencing a variety of psychiatric symptoms. Stemming from her osteopathic medical training, she focuses treatment on the whole person - mind, body & spirit. After her psychiatry residency she completed a fellowship in integrative psychiatry & additional training in nutritional psychiatry. She has a passion for working alongside patients to address root causes of mental health symptoms through the skillful combination of traditional and advancing biomedical treatments with alternative modalities.

I established Denver Psychiatric Clinic to add needed space for individuals to focus on issues affecting their mental well-being. Anxiety, mood instability, depression, relationship stress, and general dissatisfaction are often what bring people into treatment but typically represent only the surface layer of why we experience distress the way we do. The purpose of my practice is to create space for exploration of any and all sources of that distress through medication and/or therapy. My objective for each patient is that such exploration facilitates improvement through an increased understanding of themselves.

I have practiced psychiatry in Denver for the past thirty years and have been both an educator and leader in the Denver psychiatric community. I currently serve on the senior clinical faculty in the departments of psychiatry and family medicine at the University of Colorado. I served as medical director at the University of Colorado's Depression Center, The Colorado Anxiety Disorders Institute, the Health-One hospital system and Bethesda Psychiatric Hospital.
