Dr. Waits is board certified in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Lifestyle Medicine. She is a military veteran and has served innumerous leadership and academic positions over the course of her career, primarily in hospital-based settings and during combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Waits treats a wide array of mental health conditions in individuals of all ages. I am a board certified psychiatrist that treats the general adult population, with a focus on reproductive psychiatry. In addition to treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders, I focus on perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders as well as symptoms surrounding PMS/PMDD and perimenopause.

Belinda Walsh is a licensed and board-certified as a nurse practitioner in both psychiatric-mental health (PMHNP) and women's health (WHNP). She received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Virginia in 1997. She received a bachelor's in Nursing and a master's degree in Women's Health nurse practitioner in 2000 from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2016, she received her post-master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health from Virginia Commonwealth University after realizing the strong need for mental health care for obstetric patients.

In a series of happy coincidences, my life took an unexpected turn in the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Master’s program where I was able to secure a spot in the psychiatric/mental health specialty. Much of my practice has been in community mental health which has been fulfilling, enlightening and educational. I’m comfortable with diagnosing and providing medication for depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD and sleep issues and providing education about the medication.

The PMHNP compassion group provides care for the mental health community to render medication management. A group of professionals came together to share experiences and offer mutual support to the mental health community. Within the compassion group, the providers have experience in providing strategies for managing stress. The provider offers professional medication management to assist patients with psychiatric disorders fully. With bravery, you can seek help and begin to heal. My goal is to help those who are facing these difficulties. I received my psychiatric training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Adult Psychiatry. With this experience, I am able to diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric illnesses, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth with a Bachelor of Science and Walden University with a Master in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She comes to the practice with over 20 years of medical training, including a military background assisting active and retired veterans dealing with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. In addition, she has experience in critical care and behavioral health. She specializes in PTSD, OCD, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression.
