I specialize in all ages across the lifespan. I primarily treat Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Disruptive Behavior and Impulse Control, PTSD, Autism, and ADHD (no stimulants). I think it is important that clients understand that medications don't "fix" people and they do not teach skills. It is important for clients to know that my job is not to ever talk you into medications, but rather help to discuss the pros and cons to see how we can help benefit and better you.

Sarah Weatherford is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and then later returned to the college to earn her Master of Nursing Science with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health. Sarah spent her first years working as a nurse in an inpatient setting for children with psychiatric disorders. She learned the importance of implementing trauma-informed care for improving patient outcomes. She understands the importance of being an empathic listener in being an effective care provider to her patients.

I believe a holistic approach in treating both mind and body is needed to create significant and lasting positive change. Implementing these changes includes a wide variety of services, to both assess, diagnose, and treat mental and physical needs individually. Psychiatric assessments provide a foundation for creating a unique, individualized, and collaborative treatment plan to address current symptoms, and, more importantly, the core issues that need to be addressed to find relief and pave the way for future success. I treat a variety of mental health conditions including depression, OCD, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, and insomnia.

An ideal client is someone that needs support in navigating and understanding how medication management can be an important component in meeting their treatment goals. My ideal client communicates with me openly about their response to medication, both good and bad. They are willing to be open-minded and are interested in learning about their medication and advocating for themselves when something isn't right.

I see pre-teens, teenagers, and adults for psychiatric evaluations, substance abuse evaluations, medication management, and counseling. I do testing and evaluations for ADHD and I'm also board certified in Addiction Medicine. I see patients with a wide variety of issues. She has worked in various settings including community mental health, outpatient, inpatient, residential, and emergency crisis settings. Jennifer’s experience includes working with children and adolescents in therapeutic foster care, therapeutic day treatment, and school-based programs as well as adults. Jennifer believes in treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
