Hi! I am so happy you are here! I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I take a Functional + Integrative + Holistic + Evidence-Based approach to Mental Wellness. Through my own health journey & professional experience, I’ve witnessed significant gaps in the conventional healthcare model, changing the way I provide mental healthcare. The mind & body are interconnected & I believe in seeing the whole-person, not just the symptoms. Dr. Kane is a board certified psychiatrist specializing in working with children, adolescents, college students, and young adults, ages 3-26. Dr. Kane understands that each family and patient are unique and that mental health care often requires a personalized approach. She works closely with patients and families to develop treatment plans that addresses their unique needs and is passionate about helping patients meet their mental health goals. Dr. Kane understands that quality psychiatric care takes time and she works diligently to provide patients with this time.

Dr. Montgomery-Barefield completed her Medical Degree Residency and Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Tx. As a former Professor of Psychiatry and Training Director at UAB, she dedicated nearly 20 years of her career to training the next generation of psychiatrists. Dr. Montgomery-Barefield is an American Psychiatry Association Fellow and is board Certified in Adult and Child Psychiatry. She has been in practice for over 30 years and brings a wealth of expertise.
