My current practice is primarily oriented toward psycho-pharmacological treatment. My main clinical interests include anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD, geriatric patients with memory and emotional disorders of. I also treat adult and adolescent patients with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Psychotherapy at the office is provided by licensed practitioners under my supervision, I also established collaborative relationships with a number of area psychotherapists, as well as neurologists. In addition, I perform independent medical valuations of psychiatric disability (IME).

I treat my clients the way I want to be treated by a provider, with respect and honesty. It is my belief that true peace and healing can only occur with a full understanding of the individual and how they relate to the world around them. Therefore, medication is only a small piece of the puzzle and although there is much talk about the use of evidence based treatments, the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence and so I try to incorporate different schools of thought from not only Western Medicine, but Eastern Medicine as well. I provide care to patients (14 and older) with a wide range of mental health concerns, specializing in mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as psychotic, neurocognitive and neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I also provide prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum psychiatric care.

Unlike most psychiatrists, I practice as a concierge psychotherapist, using light medication, when needed. I utilize cognitive, existential, and paradoxical methods to assist patients of all types to manage their issues in balanced, profound, serene, and insightful manners. The goals are to develop enhanced inner and interpersonal strengths, skills, and perspectives. These enable a more astute navigation of the ever-changing and enigmatic terrains of life. I am double board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I believe in using both medication when indicated as well as therapy. I was trained in CBT and was given the Excellence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my residency program. I use supportive therapy with each client I see. During my residency I served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Overall Excellence in Psychiatry Award as well as the Clinical Excellence Award.

Dr. Zimko is a Board Certified Psychiatrist in the Tampa Bay Area. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Delaware in 2012 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Minors in Medical Humanities, Medical Diagnostics, and Biology. He graduated from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016 with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated his Psychiatry Residency at Largo Medical Center in 2020 and was Chief Resident in his final year.
