Hello and a warm welcome! In my 18-year career, I have worked with quite literally thousands of different patients with a variety of different mental health problems and diagnoses and a wide variety of issues, including neurological problems like TBIs, POTS/ dysautonomia, and vestibulopathies. My patients want up-to-date information and a clinician who is constantly educating herself. I hear from patients that they often feel rushed by their provider visits; in my practice, I nurture our relationship and take my time. A typical encounter with me is a full hour. I strive to know and to understand you.
I am a great educator and focus a lot on sharing what I know. I am a great lover of science; science can be very compassionate and often does an incredible job of describing what people go through. I have lectured on the topic of brain injuries and work daily in a brain injury practice. As well, I consider depression, anxiety and trauma specialities of mine.
If being hard on yourself worked, it would have worked by now. The way forward is through mindful, creative self-compassion; we will chart a course together to make this happen. This is a group I have conducted in a community health care center and will be moving to this practice. It seeks to support individuals who are affected by brain injuries, using dedicated modules, both practical and spiritual in nature. We will be joined by a peer with a brain injury. We use a "Healing & Recovery" model, which emphasizes powerful interior solutions!
