I am a Board Certified psychiatrist, and have been practicing in North Dallas and Plano for over 30 years. My specialty is mood disorders (including Bipolar Disorder), but I also treat anxiety disorders, eating disorders, ADD/ ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, relationship and situational stress (including gender issues), and virtually any other situations that need professional consultation. While not an Addictions Psychiatrist, I have treated alcohol and substance use disorders for my entire career. Many substance use issues benefit from medication judiciously prescribed to assist in preventing cravings or relapse behaviors or to treat co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
I believe in a multidisciplinary approach. My training at the UT Health Science Center in Dallas included work at Parkland, Zale-Lipshy, the VA Hospital, and private hospitals where I learned to value a team approach. Referral sources consistently tell me how pleasantly surprised they are that I communicate with them on a regular basis.
I practice outpatient Psychiatry. When necessary I can refer patients to various local and national facilities based on the circumstances. My treatment goal is not just improvement of symptoms but a lasting recovery. I am well respected in the community, regularly being voted one of D Magazine's "Best Doctors" in Dallas and Plano
